ABOUT

Combining vocals that hint towards the melodic tones of Lily Allen with Haley Williams’ modern ferocity and blending them with clever chord progressions, driving bass lines and powerful drum grooves, Lucid are a Cambridge born, indie-rock 4 piece. Their style takes inspiration from the likes of Sea Girls and Blossoms, with additional hints of funk and brit-pop thrown in to create an untraditional indie sound that tells stories through their up-tempo music.

First emerging in 2015, Lucid has had their fair share of members. The current line-up consists of Shannon O’Shea and Molly Clark, who founded the group, joined by long time friends Toby Maiden and Fin Rimmer. Each member has always had a musical interest, being part of numerous, jazz ensembles, funk bands and rock groups in the past, and still carrying the hobby through to university and working life.

The band are currently gigging off of the back of their latest release, ‘Tell Me I’m Wrong’, which came out early September and hope to spend the next year further promoting their latest EP as well as new, unrecorded material. Lucid have also had a busy year supporting bands like Patawawa and The Seamonsters, as well as securing two slots in Sheffield’s Tramlines Fringe festival.

Their last single ‘Casanova’ spent 10 weeks on Cambridge 105’s Unsigned Chart and was dubbed ‘a bop’ by 105 DJ Tim Willett, with their latest EP being described as ‘a master-class in how to write enjoyable music’ in a review in the latest issue of Generation Magazine.

Going forward Lucid plan on playing more gigs and festivals and plan to head back into the studio in the coming year.
